Email Deletion Project Charter

An email deletion policy is essential for compliance, data protection, storage efficiency, and minimizing risks and costs. Without such a policy, organizations risk legal penalties, reputational damage, and increased vulnerability to security breaches, including PHI or PII exposure from business email compromises, which have occurred at UCSF within the past 3 years. This mitigation is critical to reduce these risks and ensure systematic management for easier retrieval during litigation.
